Overview
Planmeca ProFace is not a standalone software, but an integrated hardware and software feature available on their ProMax 3D line of Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) machines. In a single scanning process, the machine captures both a standard CBCT scan (showing bone and teeth) and a 3D photograph of the patient's face. The Romexis software then automatically superimposes the two datasets, creating a complete 3D model of the patient with both hard and soft tissues. This is invaluable for planning maxillofacial surgery and orthodontics, as it allows for a realistic visualization of how skeletal changes will affect the patient's appearance.
